INTERNSHIP

Field/Domain: Embedded Software

Duration: 6 weeks

Project: Low level firmware development on MCU board or SoC simulation environment.

Description: The candidate will develop firmware on bare-metal embedded CPUs (in real or simulated SoCs).

Main activities:

  • Setup the software build system and toolchain.
  • Building a basic bare metal application from scratch.
  • Controlling embedded peripherals.
  • Integration of a Real Time Operating System.

Prerequisites

  • General understanding of computer architecture concepts.
  • Familiarity with assembly language concepts.
  • Knowledge of C language.

INTERNSHIP Verification

Field/Domain: Design Verification

Duration: 6 weeks

Project: Verification of a protocol converter module

Description: The candidate will verify functional correctness of a bus splitter module using UVM methodology and SystemVerilog language.

In the first stage, UVCs (Universal Verification Components) for interfaces/protocols used by the protocol converter module will be created, and in the second stage, a complete UVM environment for verification of the module will be written, and a randomized test regression for its verification will be run.

The project will be implemented using Cadence tool suite.

Junior Verification Engineer

Why we need you:

To help us make a SoC (System on a chip) chip that changes the world.

Who can apply:

  • Candidates with formal education, M. Sc. or B. Sc. degree in Electronics, Informatics, Computer Science, Automatic, Telecommunications or Electrical engineering.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in all stages of complex SoC verification including specification, test-bench design, verification plan, development, verification execution and verification sign off.
  • Proactive collaboration with team members in different locations
  • Review of the verification environment architecture and implementation specifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge of C/C++ and computer architecture

Bonus points if you are:

  • Familiar with scripting tools and languages (e.g. bash, csh, awk, Perl).
  • Familiar with software/hardware development tools (e.g. make and versioning tools (e.g. CVS/SVN).
  • Familiar with complex flows for System-on-Chip projects.

It will be organized in HDL DH premises, executed by senior engineer with teaching experience from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. During the training period, the junior engineers will not have other assignments and they will have fully paid salary.

Junior ASIC Design Engineering

Why we need you:

Who can apply:

  • Candidates with formal education, M. Sc. or B. Sc. degree in Electronics, Informatics, Computer Science, Automatic, Telecommunications or Electrical engineering.

Your Responsibilities:

Involvement in all stages of complex ASIC / FPGA SoC design including functional specification development, microarchitecture development, RTL design, synthesis, equivalence checking, and timing sign off.

What you’ll bring:

  • Knowledge of C/C++
  • Basic knowledge of digital electronics
  • Basic knowledge of ARM CPU System Architecture

Bonus points if you are:

  • Familiar with scripting tools and languages (e.g. bash, csh, awk, Perl).
  • Familiar with software/hardware development tools (e.g. make and versioning tools (e.g. CVS/SVN)).
  • Familiar with complex flows for System-on-Chip projects using Cadence/Synopsys/Mentor Graphics EDA tools

and have:

  • ASIC/FPGA SoC design experience using Verilog and VHDL
  • In-depth knowledge of CPU/MCU Architecture
  • Experience with RTL development, synthesis, optimization and timing closure
  • Experience in logic equivalence checking
  • Experience in DFT/ATPG
  • Experience with the implementation technologies below 90nm/CMOS
